Yesterday, I noted that my pictures look dramatically different, depending on the display in use. I opted to swap out my work laptop's desktop picture for this:
Although I uploaded the full resolution version (9MB), it still didn't look as nice as it does on my laptop. I'm therefore wondering if I should consider additional ways to display my work. I'm always networking, and I refer people to my blog and/or Flickr account. I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea, especially if the display is the issue. Some ideas:
1) Put together a photo book, like my friend Raymond did (he used Kodak). I'm concerned that depending on the company's hardware, though, I might face the same issues.
2) Print the photos myself. I did that a few years ago, with decent results, but it was a very unwieldy process. I did not enjoy having to purchase multiple sets of ink cartridges, paper, and albums.
3) Use my iPod touch - the colors are terrific, but it's too tiny.
4) Use an iPad. It's possible that I might get one for work, so that could be something I try. I can show people my Flickr portfolio from the iPad, but ensure that the colors and saturation are to my liking. This way, my work will be displayed in the best light possible.
I'm personally in favor of option 4), since it could end up being free. :) I will know more in one month, if that will be feasible. I know this sounds obsessive, but so be it. :)
Till tomorrow!
